What a nice obituary--we all need to remember Susan's good qualities and gifts. One of her gifts was Rachel. I remember the day Rachel was born. Susan asked me to be there at the University hospital and I was. There was Dan and Susan and me. It had been a high risk pregnancy because of Susan's age and the fact that she had only one kidney. Things were proceeding as expected and then the doctors noticed that the infant was going into distress. They quickly prepared for a cecer
ian and Dan and I had to step out and watch through a glass window. It was very scary--I can only imagine what it was for Susan. Suddenly the baby was born naturally. Hooray! All was well. Susan was very happy with the baby she wanted so much.
