Thomas George Wood's Obituary
Our beloved father, Thomas George Wood, returned home on February 12, 2023. Tom was born to Doris and Arthur Wood on February 18, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah. He grew up in the Salt Lake valley and entered the army at the ripe age of 18. He made a living working for the government for 30 years in a variety of facilities from the Tooele Army Depot to the VA hospital mostly working in logistics. He always earned the respect and admiration of his co-workers along with numerous awards from the "higher ups" as he would say. Along with being a great worker, he was an amazing husband of 40 years and a father to 3 kids. He was an outstanding artist and creator. He enjoyed golfing and fishing as hobbies as well as had skills in playing pool. He always kept you laughing and never let you sweat the small stuff. He was a great teacher and helped you think about problems in a different way than most. He worked so hard every day to provide a great life for the family he loved greatly.
He is survived by his wife, Cleone Wood, son Chad (Connie) Wood, daughters Blair (Peter) Wood and Jenny Wood. Siblings Arlene Kearl, Danny Wood, and Harriet Lomax. Grandchildren Nick, Shawn, Breanna, Bryce, and Psylys. Great-grandchildren, Kale, Colton, Hope, Braxton and Everly "Little Bean."
Memorial Service and interment will be held at Utah Veteran's Cemetery and Memorial Park on Friday, March 3, 2023 at 12noon.
