Steven Matthew Thompson's Obituary
Steven Matthew Thompson born September 9th, 1960 in Douglas, WY went home to the angels November 1st, 2018 due to natural causes. Matt was raised by Leah Parsons and Arthur Thompson in Manti, UT when he found his passion for sports & played football for Manti High School where he graduated. Matt later moved to Salt Lake City and then discovered his love for the open road & pursued a career as a Semi truck driver. At the age of 25 while continuing his pursuit of sports, he met the love of his life. Matt & Beckie fell in love instantly & married shortly after. He embraced her two children, Jason (Marlor) & Jami (Durfey) as his own. After countless tries & complications, their "Miracle child" was born 6 years later. Matt loved & adored his daughter Jilliann, & always did his absolute best to care for her. She truly was the light of his life.
Matt was loved by all, & was blessed with a heart of gold, a human that would never hesitate to put others needs before his own. He was a son, husband, father, brother & uncle & loved by many nieces, nephews & extended family.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Matt is survived by his wife Beckie, His Daughter Jilliannn, his two Step Children Jami & Jason & three sisters, Shellie, Val & Melissa.
Preceded in death by his Mother, Leah Rae Parsons & Father Arthur Norman Thompson.
A celebration to honor this beautiful man's life will be held November 17th, 2018 at Sugar Space from 2pm-4pm (132 S. 800 W.) in Salt Lake City, UT
