Sheryl (Lindeman) Spafford's Obituary
Sheryl (Lindeman) Spafford, born on June 25, 1954, to Gordan and Ruth Lindeman in Salt Lake City, Utah, peacefully passed away in her daughter's arms at her home Sunday, March 17, 2024.
Sheryl's early years were spent in Sandy, where she fondly recalled the tales of Zinnia Way. She graduated from Jordan High School and began her career at Dee's Restaurant, where she met and married Lynn R. Spafford. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Torie, before parting ways. Sheryl later found love again and spent 25 years with Douglas Binstock.
Her love for cooking and food service led her to ownership of Sciliano's Food Gallery in Holladay. After that, she seamlessly combined her passion for food with her family's deep connection to racing, serving as the concessions manager at Rocky Mountain Raceways for 14 years. Sheryl's weekends were often dedicated to supporting her brother and husband at the racetracks near and far, showcasing her unwavering dedication to her family and their shared love for racing.
Off the racetrack, Sheryl's hosting skills shone bright, especially during the holidays. Her Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve dinners were legendary, filled with love, warmth, and delicious food that created lasting memories for her family and loved ones.
Sheryl's life was defined by her deep affection for her family, her culinary passion, and her meticulously maintained yard.
As she became unable to tend her yard, Sheryl's neighbors regularly offered their assistance. She deeply appreciated their kindness in helping with tasks such as taking out the trash, snow blowing, pruning trees and flowers, and checking in on her well-being.
Sheryl was preceded in death by both her parents and is survived by her daughter Torie Spafford (Maurine Wilkerson), brothers Kurt (Janet) Lindeman, and Cory Lindeman, along with many nieces and nephews.
Our family could not have navigated this challenging time without the invaluable support of the Atlas Home Health and Hospice team, including Tiki, Savanah, and Korie. We are also grateful to Chase at Wiscombe Memorial for helping us with the logistics of this journey.
