Sherley Terry Pittario's Obituary
Sherley Terry Pittario, age 75, passed away on February 17, 2025, in South Salt Lake City
Sherley Terry Pittario, a woman whose love, strength, and selflessness touched the lives of so many. Born on May 8, 1949, in Van Nuys, California, Sherley was a beacon of light to her family, friends, and countless others who were fortunate enough to know her. She passed away on February 17, 2025, in South Salt Lake, Utah, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering compassion.
Sherley was a fighter in every sense of the word. She dedicated her life to standing up for what was right, whether it was for her family, friends, or strangers in need. Her commitment to justice was unmatched, and she often used her legal expertise to help those who couldn’t afford it, working tirelessly to right wrongs and bring peace to those who needed it most. She was a mother, a grandmother, a friend, and a mentor to so many, always giving more of herself than she had to give.
To her children—Hanz, John, Garret, Ashley, Amber, and her late son, David—Sherley was more than a mother; she was their guiding star. She was their biggest cheerleader, their confidante, and their source of endless love and support. She was so proud of the people they became and the lives they built. Her grandchildren held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment she spent with them, always wishing she could be there for them even more.
Sherley’s love extended far beyond her immediate family. She took in countless others over the years, offering guidance, support, and a place to call home. To so many, she was “Mom,” a title she wore with pride and humility. Her heart was vast, and her capacity for love seemed endless.
She was a woman of many passions. Cooking was one of her greatest joys, and she loved experimenting with new recipes, always adding her own special touch of love. She dreamed of creating a cookbook filled with her favorite dishes, a project that symbolized the warmth and care she poured into every meal. Her family promises to finish this labor of love in her honor.
Sherley’s strength and resilience were unmatched. From running away to Reno at 17 to forge her own path, to becoming a successful real estate agent and lawyer, she lived life on her own terms. She was a second-degree black belt, a lover of nature, and a woman who found peace in the simple things—like dollar tacos, the ocean, and her beloved Hallmark shows. She believed in kindness, in standing up for others, and in living a life full of love and purpose.
She was a woman who valued family above all else. She hated when her children fought and always encouraged them to come together, to love one another, and to support each other no matter what. In her honor, her family pledges to keep her spirit alive by staying connected and cherishing the bonds she worked so hard to nurture.
Sherley’s favorite place to celebrate was Red Lobster, where she looked forward to her annual birthday dinners surrounded by her loved ones. Today, as we celebrate her life, we remember the joy she brought to the world and the countless lives she touched.
