Scott Clive Earl's Obituary
Scott Clive Earl
9/10/1959 - 12/28/2019
Our precious son, husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend, Scott Clive Earl, surrounded by his family, peacefully returned home to his Heavenly Father after a valiant battle with two forms of Leukemia that spanned two years. Scott fought his battle bravely and with endless optimism. Always answering “I’m doing great”. Scott was born on September 10th, 1959, and was raised by Colleen H. Olson and Step-father Tomas A. Olson, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended the University of Utah and Westminster college, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business. Scott became a highly skilled Auctioneer with his unique talent. He then fulfilled his dream of opening his own business Treasures Unlimited. Scott was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various capacities. He married his best friend Leslie Leavitt on May 26th, 1994, the two had been friends since kindergarten. Scott was a lover of life; he could light up a room with his positive energy and sense of humor. He especially loved the outdoors, spending his childhood at Bowery Haven at fish lake, creating precious memories. Scott enjoyed the thrill of snowmobiling in the winter, but summer was his season. Spending time with family and friends four-wheeling, camping, fishing and relaxing was his favorite. He treated all to his famous French toast with peanut butter over the years as well as countless hours of laughter and stories. His legacy is strong and will live on in the mountains he loved. Scott was an avid fan of various sports, including football, baseball, basketball, and especially NASCAR. Scott’s sweet dog Belle, remained by his side throughout his battle as his special little side-kick, the two were inseparable. Scott had the ability to make friends easily, he effortlessly could strike up a conversation and make others feel included. He remained close with his childhood friends that he considered family. Scott was so fun to be around and unselfishly brightened the day of others with his kind heart and carefree attitude, which earned him the title of “favorite” by all who knew him. Scott was indeed loved by all, and all feel blessed to know him. Scott is survived by his loving wife Leslie of 25 years; children Johnny (Jessi) Call, Joshua (Emily) Call, Tiffany (Ryan) Snow, and Amanda (Alex) Earl, siblings Greg (Debbie) Earl, Marilee Olson, Rob (Cynthia) Olson, Michele (Brad) Bohling, and mother-in-law Pat Leavitt. He was adored and loved by his grandchildren KJ, Kelliann, Leo, and a granddaughter on the way. He was preceded in death by his mother Colleen Olson, Step-father Thomas Olson, his grandparents Nellie Earl, Donnette Clawson, William Clawson, father-in-law Ron Leavitt, and his brother-in-law Lance Leavitt, brother Richard Olson. Funeral services will be held on January 4th, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located 10312 S. Ashley Park Drive, Sandy Ut. 84092. Family and friends may gather and reminisce at 10:00 AM prior to the service that will start at 11:00 AM. The family would like to thank the Huntsman Cancer Institute specifically Dr. Lee, Jennifer Lloyd, the BMT team, compassionate infusion nurses, and caregivers; the valet service who were always so kind to us, and the countless others who have cared for Scott. We are grateful for all the prayers, the love, and support from so many family members, friends, and neighbors. In lieu of flowers please consider donating to the Huntsman Cancer Institute, or joining the registry of the Be The Match Foundation. It was through the Be The Match Foundation that we were able to find Scott’s anonymous donor who selflessly gave to help Scott and allowed us to have more time with him, we are so Thankful for his sacrifice.
Arrangements are under the direction of Wiscombe Memorial.
