Scott DeWayne Durand's Obituary
Scott DeWayne Durand passed away in the presence of his daughters on the evening of December 3, 2020 at the age of 52. Scott had dealt with heart disease for many years and he is now pain free. He was born in West Valley City, Utah in March of 1968. He graduated from Taylorsville High School and went on to live a wonderful life surrounded by family and friends. He enjoyed being outdoors, camping, shooting and playing softball with his co-workers. His main priority was always spending time with his children and grandchildren. He spent a lot of time with Jadrean and Archer and was lucky to live so close to them. He spent a lot of his time playing and loving on the boys. He is a superhero in their eyes.
Scott endured many hardships during his lifetime, but he always had a positive attitude. He was always happy, laughing and trying to make others laugh. He had a wonderfully contagious laugh that we will all miss. He was always the first one to offer help when it was needed. He was able to fix anything and was always willing to help those who needed who needed him.
He is survived by his two daughters Abagail Durand and Tasha Moore. He has four beautiful grandchildren that were his life, Jadrean, Archer, Cate and Carter. Scott was an amazing grandfather and was adored by the kids. He is also survived by his mother, Barbara Carnley and his father Michael (Sandy) Durand, his siblings Michael, Rick, Shawn, Pam, Tammy and Brandon and multiple nieces and nephews that he loved.
Due to Covid-19 we have decided not to hold services for Scott at this time. Next year we will hold a Celebration of Life when we feel safer. Scott would want everyone to stay safe and healthy during this time. We have planned a small balloon release for December 20, 2020 at 3 pm at The West Valley City Recreation Center (5415 W 3100 S) and encourage anyone who wants to come to please wear a mask, social distance and bring balloons.
