Samuel Covington Stith's Obituary
Samuel Covington Stith, 87, passed away on March 16, 2017 in Salt Lake City, UT of complications as a result of Alzheimers. He was born September 29, 1929 in Jeffersontown, Kentucky to Frances Louise Bowman, and Howard Seymour Stith. He married Patricia Lauterbach in April 1956 sharing 61 years together.
Sam was drafted to play football for Bear Bryant but passed on the opportunity to care for his mother. He attended The University Of Louisville and Morehead College. Sam was a proud US ARMY 187th AIRBORNE RANGER serving in KOREA. He worked in sales in the mining and rubber industries. Sam was always a real jokester and lover of life and people.
He is survived by his wife Patricia, daughter Patti, son Sam and brother Seymour.
He was proceed in death by his parents and brother Major Bowman O Barlow.
A memorial will be held Tuesday March 28, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. at The William E Christoffersen Veterans Home Salt Lake City

In lieu of flowers donations may be directed to his 91 year old widow - Pat Stith at 2498 S. Scenic Dr. SLC UT 84109 - to offset the costs of medical and nursing home care.
