Ruth Saxton Winzenried's Obituary
Ruth Saxton Winzenried passed away from heart stenosis on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at the age of 83. She was born at home on February 25, 1939 in Ogden Utah. Ruth was the ninth born of ten children. Predeceased by six siblings, her parents Phillip Richard Saxton and Mary Natella Polson Saxton. As well as her eldest daughter Tamra Leigh Bridges Winzenried and her eldest granddaughter. Survived by her remaining siblings Velma Gregerson, Jeanette Flynn and Philip Saxton. In addition to her four remaining children, Byron LeGrand Bridges Winzenried, Michelle Dawn Winzenried, Shawn David Byerly, Kétienne Renée Byerly York, 15 grandkids and 30 great grandkids. Though she prided herself in being a maternal figure to many more than just her bloodline.
Ruth will always be remembered for her generous spirit and artistic gift. As a child she exhibited natural artistic talents and received correspondence art lessons. She later in life, received an associates degree in art and psychology. She worked as a keno runner throughout her life, but after receiving her degree, she worked mainly as a residential advisor at Sierra Nevada Job Corps in Reno, NV. Ruth loved astrology, reading, art and music. She enjoyed nature and believed "nature is the art of God". Ruth loved games, she like to do puzzles and play cards, specifically spades and solitare as well as play video games.
As per her wishes, no services are planned. In lieu of flowers please grow a tree, bush, or plant in her honor.
