Robert 'Rob' Owen Rawlins' Obituary
Robert Owen Rawlins (Rob) died at home on September 12, 2018 in Magna, Utah after a three-year battle with brain cancer. He was 50.
Robert was born on June 15, 1968 in Ogden, Utah to parents, Lajune Stoddard and LaVere Rawlins. He married Colette Holman in 1998. The Rawlins’s lived in Magna where Rob worked as a driver for Granite School District.
Robert was an amazing man and father who deeply loved his family and the Lord. Service was very important to Rob. He was given many opportunities to serve through his callings in the Church including Cub Scouts, Elder’s and High Priest Quorum leaderships, Ward and Stake Young Men’s Axillaries, and member of Bishopric, but his greatest act of service came from home where he was able to have the title of “Mr. Mom” for his children for ten years.
Robert is survived by his wife of 20 years, Colette; his son, Jake (currently serving an LDS mission in the Philippines); daughters Ryeli and Emily; his mother, Lajune; and brothers, Mike (Jeanne) and Paul. He is preceded in death by his father LaVere.
We would love to thank ALL who helped him and his family during this time: CNS Hospice Care; Huntsman Cancer Institute, Dr. Cohen; Parkside Ward Members; Neighbors, friends, and family.
A funeral will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the LDS Church on 3610 S 8400 W, Magna, UT at 11 AM. A viewing will be held prior to the service at 10 AM. Internment will take place at Memorial Redwood Mortuary & Cemetery, 6500 S Redwood Rd, Salt Lake City, UT under the care of Wiscombe Memorial.
