God must have given you a sign that it was your time when you said to me, " I think I'm on my way out". It was a privilege talking to you in the recovery room after you had undergone your kidney biopsy procedure. I got to know a little more about your life and some of your experiences. I knew after that procedure that your time was limited because of the breathing problems you were experiencing. I could have taken you to the emergency room, but you insisted that I take you home, and that evening you took the "going home" part literally. I hope the angels came for you suddenly so you didn't have to suffer any longer. It is always difficult to see someone you love go through so much discomfort and agony like you did. I know that dialysis wasn't the method you preferred and a kidney transplant wasn't an option, so when I learned that you were on hospice it wasn't a surprise to me that your time was limited. I knew that any time spent with you should be cherished and that is what I did. I cherished every moment I had in those remaining days.
I know that you are in a better place and that you were welcomed home by many. What a reunion it must have been!
In case you are wondering what those of us you left behind will be doing here on Earth while you enjoy your place in "GLORY", I want to let you know that we will keep doing what Jesus asked of us, "to love others as I have loved you".
I have to let you go now my friend. I will see you at a later date.
Keep an eye on us as we battle this so called life.
Love your friend,
Colleen A. Stacks
