Rick Garza (Rene Ricardo Garza)'s Obituary
Our beloved father, husband, son, brother, and friend Rick Garza passed away suddenly in his sleep on January 21st, 2017. He was born in Phoenix, AZ to Ricardo Garza and Emma Rodriguez Garza, where he spent his youth and young adulthood. It was there that he met and married his wife Christine Irizarry-Garza and started a new chapter in his life. After living briefly in New York, they moved to Utah and started their family.
Rick’s children were his pride and joy, and he worked hard his whole life to give them every opportunity and provide for his family. He worked at Hexcel for 19 years, where he was loved by everyone who knew him and where he created many life-long friendships. He was extremely proud to be from Arizona and of his Mexican heritage and enjoyed sharing memories of the place and culture that he loved. He had many passions in life, ranging from Disney, Dr. Who, and Comic Con to music, theater, and fitness, but his greatest love was for his wife and children.
He is survived by his mother Emma; his sister Eunice Stahl, her husband Kevin, and their children Carter and Kaitlyn; his brother Roy Rodriguez; and his wife Christine and their six children Jaci, Summer, Nicolas, Noah, Joseph, and Samuel. He is preceded in death by his father Ricardo Garza.
Rick was able to put a smile on anyone’s face, whether it be by offering a kind word, belting out a broadway hit, or just being his genuine, enthusiastic self. He was one of a kind and he will be greatly missed.
