Here, my customers become more than just my customers. They become my friends and I care deeply about them. I ended up calling the Ravalli County Sheriff's Dept today to do a welfare check on my old friend Nancy. I hadn't seen her since Sept and she didn't respond to my Christmas greeting so I had a sinking feeling she was gone. She had a brave battle with cancer. She was a sweet and gentle spitfire. She LOVED animals beyond herself. I knew her to capture and release skunks to keep them from getting in traps and being killed. She took in more puppies and kitties than she should have and would go hungry to feed her obnoxious goat and her horses. She was an animals angel. Anyway, I was informed she actually passed away in Oct in UT. I will miss her, her long hair, her sweet smile, her floppy hat and even her stinky smoke smell. She had a fire in her eyes and an opinion to be heard. She would bake me zuchinni bread and applesauce bread and make me jams. I loved her. Rest in peace you sweet soul.
