Matt was a tremendous musician. His inspirations included Yanni, Enigma, Enya, and Joe Satriani, though his tastes were broader than that. He could play the piano like nobody's business. He took keen notice of movie and video game sound tracks, which is something you don't always think about when engaged with such things.
I think one of his fondest memories of a time I shared with him was just going up the canyon in Tooele and chilling out for a long time: no booze, no music, just hanging out and talking. Yet, he brought it up several times later as something "cool" he enjoyed recalling.
