Mariah Lynne Menges' Obituary
Mariah Lynne Menges was born to Monica Ann Golle and Glenn Patrick Menges on July 16, 1990, in Barrington, Illinois. She passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Ogden Regional Medical Center in Ogden, Utah, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mariah was preceded in death by her grandparents, Philip and Mavourneen Golle, and Louis and Patricia Menges; her brother, Caleb Menges; and her nephew, Noah Joseph Eklove-Menges. She is survived by her parents, Glenn Menges and Monica Kottke (Raymond), her brother, Patrick (Katie) Menges; and her five beloved children, Audrey, Jonathan, Elijah, Hunter, and Lillian. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Mariah came into this world with a huge smile – one that became her hallmark throughout her life. She was a vibrant and fun-loving girl who loved sports and the outdoors. Growing up with her two brothers and many cousins, Mariah was known as a fierce competitor. She loved animals of all kinds and kept pets ranging from bugs and butterflies to turtles, ferrets, cats and dogs. However, horses were her favorite! Mariah cherished every moment spent reading about, watching, feeding, and especially riding them whenever she could.
As a teenager, Mariah excelled in softball and volleyball and loved snowboarding at Wilmot Mountain, where she became an instructor. Her radiant smile and bubbly personality earned her the honor of being selected by several of her high school teachers as an ambassador for the “People to People Foundation, giving her the unforgettable experience of travelling through several European countries.
After high school Mariah attended Alaska Pacific University, where she studied Marine Biology for two semesters. She loved the outdoors and spent much of her free time hiking, camping, fishing, and rock-hounding. Just days before her passing, Mariah travelled with her mother to Yellowstone, the Giant Redwoods, and other National parks creating precious memories they will cherish forever.
Mariah’s greatest joy and passion in life were her children. She adored sharing with them the activities she loved as a child and creating lasting memories. Through all of life’s trials, her love for her family remained steadfast, and she was cherished by all who knew her. Her radiant smile and adventurous spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church, 13022 Wilmot Road, Kenosha, Wisconsin, 53142, officiated by Pastor Justin Craig. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a Celebration of Life at 11:00 am. A lunch and time of fellowship will follow the service at the church. Interment will be announced at a later date.
