M. Jacqueline Perry's Obituary
Marie Jacqueline (Jacqui) Perry (nee Pryor) was born to Roy and Annette Pryor on June 15, 1948 in Frank, Alberta, Canada. She returned to her heavenly home on December 2, 2022 while living in Sandy, Utah, at the age of 74.
She is survived by her children Richelle (George) Coburn of Sandy, Utah, Colin (Shawna) Perry of Nampa, Idaho, and grandchildren Ryder, Tanner, Isla, and Wren, amongst other extended family in the United States and Canada. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Richard.
Jacqui was proud of her Canadian heritage and always had a Canadian flag within reach. She loved to read and collect books about Canada. Though born in Frank, Alberta, Jacqui was raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and moved with her husband and children to Montesano, Washington in 1993. Here she formed many friendships and bonds with everyone she met. Her humour and quick wit often a source of laughter and enjoyment for all.
Jacqui worked primarily in administrative positions. While working as a payroll manager at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg, Manitoba, she met Orthopedic Physicians Assistant Richard Perry. The two were married November 21, 1981 in the chapel of the hospital where they met. She also spent time as a receptionist, financial administrator, and CPA assistant, before running a small housekeeping business. After her retirement, she volunteered at Feline Friends, a cat rescue in Olympia, Washington. In addition to volunteering, she rescued and adopted Malcolm, Ricker, and Fiona. During her time at "the cat house", Jacqui trained other volunteers and served on the board of directors.
Jacqui loved all animals and was never without a pet in her home. She adopted many dogs, cats, and birds throughout her life.
She was an avid reader, often having more than one book started at a time. Among her favourites were Charles Dickens and historical novels. She loved music and would often sing along with her favourites like The Eagles, Elton John, Gordon Lightfoot, John Denver, and fellow Winnipegger, Burton Cummings.
Jacqui was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Here she served in many callings in Relief Society and Young Womens but loved serving the children in Primary the most. She could often be found helping the children she loved so dearly.
