Linda Joy Johnson's Obituary
Linda Joy Johnson, age 77, passed away on June 28, 2018 at home with family around her due to a failing heart. She was born on February 8, 1941 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Ruby Pauline Kemple and Charles Elton Barnes.
Mom was raised in Goodsprings, Nevada. She moved to Kanab, Utah where she made many wonderful friends, while in Kanab she worked at Ruby's Cafe. She moved to Salt Lake City, Utah and raised her 8 children. Mom made her living as a Food Server at Holiday Inn in the Banquet Area for years she left there to run the Voyager Lounge, she made many friends wherever she worked. Later Mom was a Home Healthcare Provider taking excellent care of her patients, loving them as family, she seemed to touch everyone's heart she knew. She loved family and family get togethers, barbecues, sitting outside and enjoying the sunshine and the company of everyone.
She is survived by her children, Richard (Betty) Rice; Robert Rice; Tracy Rice; Kara Johnson; Tanya Rice; Mark Rice and Karmin C. Rice; brother, Charles (Kay) Barnes; sisters, Claudia Church and Nancy Schlemmer; 10 Grandkids; 14 Grandkids and 5 Great-Great Grandkids; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Johnson; children, Boyd G. Rice; Charles G. Rice and Dale Rice; grandchildren, Billy Sales and Jaylyne Doramus; brothers, Richard Barnes and Donald Schlemmer and sister Marsha Whitney.
