Lillian Kalani Naihe's Obituary
Lillian Kalani Naihe, 83, of Waimānalo, Hawaiʻi, passed away on March 12th, 2021.
Kalani was born on February 23rd, 1938 to Bernicia Kailiponi Lane and Robert Hoapili Baker in
Hilo, Hawaiʻi. She is survived by her brother, George Baker, who is the last heir of the Royal
Hoapili Baker ʻohana.
Kalani was happily married to Edward Naihe Sr., and together they raised 13 children, Bernicia
Kaopio, Valerie Medina, Debra Flores, Edward Naihe Jr., Charles Naihe, Newman Naihe,
Lopaka Naihe, Woodland Naihe, Jade Bedell, Lane (Bulla) Naihe, Cy Naihe, Hanalei Naihe, and
Kamuela Naihe. She has 34 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren, and two great great
grandchildren.
Throughout her life she worked in a variety of different jobs as a waitress, bus aide, movie
attendant, and more. She was also an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day
Saints. Her true passion was creating flower arrangements for any occasion and she would often
share this talent with her community, free of charge.
On Kalani’s 83rd birthday her family members described her as a gift, beautiful, godly, resilient,
selfless, brave, kind, warm-hearted, faithful soldier, giggly, and always thinking of others before
herself. She loved mango tea and Pepsi big gulps. Her favorite sayings were “I love you ten
times,” “delicious to the taste,” and “hang in there.” She is loved and will truly be missed.
Her celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 at 10:00am Kaiona Beach Park.
