Mothers are the vital warmth of the sun-and they are the comforting coolness of the shade. -Terri Guillemets
Our mother Leticia Ortega passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
She was born to the late Felix Gutierrez and Lisa Moreno March 8, 1959 in Mexicali, Mexico. She married the late Raymond J. Ortega in 1982 and lived in New Mexico before relocating to Salt Lake City, Utah where they raised their family.
Leticia received her US Citizenship 2012 and went on to receive her degree in medical billing and coding. She was determined to provide her family with a better life so every day she would work, never missing a day. She was witty and always had a joke to say, enough to make people blush. She had four children (Joshua of Salt Lake; Jose of Taylorsville; Elisa of South SLC; Yolanda of Murray) She is also survived by eleven grandchildren. Leticia was predeceased by her late loving husband in 2008.
Her family will be holding a viewing for her at Wiscombe Memorial, Friday, February 19,2021 from 12pm-1pm, where family and friends can say their final goodbyes.
