Erin Mcshay
I first met Laura at a writers' conference over 15 years ago. I told her that my son was type 1, and we had that connection. Through the years, we stayed in touch, sharing type 1 information. We worked together and wrote together.
I'll never forget once, my son's insulin pump wasn't working, my husband was out of town, and it was late at night. I called Laura, very upset, asking for help, and she dropped everything and came over to my house to help me through a very trying time.
Praying she's surrounded by peace and love now.
I'm glad to have known her, and my heart goes out to those she left behind.
