Kathryne Louise Ricks' Obituary
Kathryne “Katie” Ricks passed from this life to the next on December 13, 2023, in West Jordan, Utah due to complications from kidney failure. She was born on August 19, 1980, in Heber City, Utah to Maggie Aiken and Ed Browning.
Katie grew up in Vernal, Utah where she made many friends. She sang in the choir, played soccer, and managed the girls’ basketball team. Graduating from Uintah Highs School. She had a special gift to help those suffering from Alzheimer’s. She also was gifted with the ability to make those she came in contact with feel loved. Wherever she went she made friends.
She married her best friend, Scott Ricks on September 13, 2002, in Sandy, Utah. Katie’s lifelong dream of being a mother finally came true in 2013. She was devoted to her husband and children. Katie went out of the way to make magical moments happen for her family.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Scott Ricks; son, Grayson and daughter, Lily; parents Ed and Maggie Browning; parents-in-law, Dodie and Brandon Loveless and Robert and Wendy Wiece; siblings, Phil (Joleen), Becky (Dean), and Jonathan (Ashlee); sisters-in-law, Erika, Amber and Amanda and many Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
Preceded in death by her Grandparents and 6 Angel babies.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 22, 2023, in the Maple 1st Ward, 6592 Haven Maple Drive West Jordan, Utah at 11:30 am. A visitation will take place from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the services. Internment will be at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road Salt Lake City, Utah.
