Kathleen Funderburk's Obituary
Kathleen (Kathy) Funderburk, age 79, passed away on January 3rd 2025 in Sandy, Utah. She was born on August 11th, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Darlene Mueller and Jack Larsen. Kathy married Herb Funderburk where they later had 2 children, Frank & Tonja. Herb later passed away in tragic accident. Later in life she had another child, Daniel Thein. Kathy loved spending her time as a child at the family cabin in Oakley, Utah whereas a little girl, she, her siblings and her cousins loved to help their grandfather build the cabin. As Kathy grew older, she spent a lot of her early adult years in Washington raising her children. When her children got older, she then moved to Magna, UT where she lived for years. She eventually decided to downsize, when she bought her forever home in West Jordan, UT. One of her favorite things to do as she got older were her weekend trips to Wendover with her sister Terry and grandson CJ. She also loved going to the beach and watching for whales with her niece Nicky as she thought it was the coolest thing to see them so up close in their nature.
Kathy is proceeded in death by; Husband, Herb Funderburk, Her Father Jack Larsen, Her Mother, Darlene Mueller, Sister, Vicky Trujillo and Son, Danny Thein.
Kathy leaves behind her children Frank & Tonja, Siblings; Jack (Shirley) Larsen, Rick (LoAnn) Burge, Ron Burge and Terry (Steve) Vernon, Grand Children; Trevor (Shelby) Vernon, Tristan (Jason) Wells, CJ (Steven) Ford, Adam Norton, Gadge Thein, Kaden Thein, Taytem (Jake) Thein, Aurora Thein, Dallas Thein as well as many great grand-children.
She will greatly be missed by all those around her.
