Julie Bronson Ford's Obituary
Julie Bronson Ford passed away October 8th, 2020. She was born on January 18th 1965 to Hugh Edwin & Gay Goodrich Bronson at the LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah and was lovingly welcomed into a large family as the seventh of eight children. Raised in Holladay, a suburb of Salt Lake, Julie graduated from Olympus High School in 1983. Shortly following, she began her college studies at Southern Utah State College in Cedar City and from there went on to Utah State University in Logan where she continued her studies with a focus toward veterinary medicine.
Julie had an exuberant way of making friends easily and gathered many loved ones throughout the years. She enjoyed exceptionally close bonds with her parents and siblings as she was a true gem in their lives.
In 1988, Julie met and married Rocky Milo Ford and in 1991 the two welcomed their son, Ian. She loved being a mother as it came natural to her and this was obvious to everyone around. Julie endeavored to cultivate a close friendship with Ian by sharing her interests for the outdoors, animals, music, and the recognition of the holidays. She was particularly fond of Halloween, and celebrated it with an infectious energy by decorating and dressing up each year. Julie had an exceptional voice and loved to sing, especially on Christmas Eve when she’d go caroling with her sisters. A highlight for Julie as a chance to celebrate the spirit of the season with friends. After the loss of her husband Rocky in 1996, it was especially important for Julie to celebrate life and share in cherished events with her son, friends and loved ones.
Julie was drawn to animals and had several pets throughout her lifetime. She was also known for her keen knowledge of plants and gardening and worked briefly at Western Gardens in Salt Lake City, where she could show off her talents. She went on to work as a lab tech for ARUP, and progressed on to the University of Utah Health in their medical billing department. At the time of her death, Julie was working in the billing department for Sutter Health.
Julie Bronson Ford leaves behind her son Ian Slade Ford, brother Reed C. Bronson, sisters Janette Bronson Harvey and LeAnne Bronson, many nieces, nephews as well as countless friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Hugh & Gay, husband Rocky, and siblings Donna, Steven, Mary & Betty.
A celebration of Julie’s life and memorial service will later be planned in Springtime when the warm weather and Covid 19 will again allow friends and loved ones to come together. Julie’s ashes will then be honorably dispersed to the areas she travelled and once enjoyed.
