Juan Pedro Albarez's Obituary
Juan Pedro Albarez, age 63, passed away on January 16, 2021 at Jordan Valley Medical Center due to complications of COVID-19.
He was born on March 27, 1957 in La Paz, Bolivia to Epifania Flores Vargas and Pedro Albarez Foronda.
Juan had many loves in life which started with his children and grandchildren. He loved being with and going on adventures with them, whether it was just down the street to Lagoon or a road trip to Disneyland. He loved people and growing his “family”; there are many people whom he considered family though there was no blood relation.
Juan found great joy in serving in his church, and loved sharing the gospel with those around him. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as a teenager, and served a full-time mission in his home country of Bolivia. He was always looking for ways to bring the gospel into his daily conversations.
Juan was proud of his Bolivian heritage, and was deeply involved in the Utah chapter of the Bolivian Society. He loved planning and participating in these activities. Juan a had a serious love of dancing. He enjoyed going to the club to go dancing, never missing an opportunity, and he would take anyone that was willing to join him.
Juan had many jobs throughout his life, but he absolutely loved his job at Manuel’s Fine Foods, and had worked there for over 20 years. He loved the owners, his supervisor and those he managed like family. He worried over those who worked under him, and was anxious to serve them any way he could.
Juan is survived by his son Mahorian (Elizabeth) Albarez of Polk City, FL and daughter Kira (Jeff) Wyss of West Valley City, UT. Sisters Zoraida Alvarez of La Paz, Bolivia; Rosario Alvarez of La Paz, Bolivia; Charo Alvarez of La Paz, Bolivia; Janette Sandra Alvarez of Barcelona, Spain; and Ana Maria Albarez of La Paz, Bolivia. Grandchildren Ammon Albarez, Sarah Albarez and Camilla Albarez, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Juan was preceded in death by both his parents, his ex-wife Sonja, and sister Maria Luz Alvarez de Salas.
A memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, January 22, 2021, and will be streamed via YouTube Live. The family will meet with friends and relatives from 11am-2pm on Thursday January 21, 2021 at Wiscombe Memorial, 47 S Orange St Suite B-5, Salt Lake City, UT 84116.
