Joseph Tommy Lettig's Obituary
On the morning of August 2, 2002, Joseph Tommy Lettig passed away and entered into the outstretched arms of our Savior and loved ones.
He grew up with a passion for playing sports recreationally, from basketball with family and friends, to disc golf. He loved to watch sports and was an avid fan of the San Francisco 49ers. He loved to spend his free time reading books, and particularly enjoyed reading and collecting comic books. He enjoyed playing video games, and would play with his brothers quite often. Joe was a passionate chef, and enjoyed collecting recipes and cooking gourmet meals for himself and his loved ones. Too few people were privileged to dine on a meal by Joe. He was a loyal and hard worker, where he worked as a Judicial Clerk for Salt Lake City Justice Court for over 20 years. Everyone who worked beside him called him a friend. But more than any of his hobbies, Joe loved being a father to his daughter, Maya. He was a dedicated father who enjoyed sharing new experiences, as well as continuing fun family traditions. As often as he could he was finding any opportunity to smile and laugh. He was a comedian to some, a brother to others, a loving uncle to many, but revered as a close friend to all who met him.
Joe is preceded in death by his father, Filbert, and his brother, Jimmy.
Joe is survived by his daughter, Maya, his wife, Christina, his mother, Mary, his brothers, John, Paul, Freddy, Ricky and Andy. His sisters, Phyllis, Jackie, Cindy, Debbie and Liz.
Family and friends are invited to attend a special memorial service held in his honor on August 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM, located at the chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints - 1304 West Cinch Way, Bluffdale, UT 84065.
