Joey Tawa Denet
A dearly loved brother, uncle and friend passed away on November 14th, 2021. Born in Arizona to Althea and Earl Denet. Survived by his younger siblings Dennise, Dustin, Ray and his 4 nephews and 3 nieces. Proceeded in death by his parents.
Joey was a loving and funny guy. He was able to communicate by head nods, eyebrow raises, and simple hand gestures. Joey had a "Hey" for every situation. You knew what he meant depending on his tone. He often advocated for others, making them feel heard even if they were in the wrong. Joey was a protective and loving uncle.
Joey loved traveling but his favorite destination was always a Pow-Wow. He could be found going from drum group to drum group with his tape recorder. Joey enjoyed fishing trips with his family. He especially enjoyed trips to Wendover where he played Texas Hold 'Em, Black Jack and the slot machines.
Joey was such a special soul. To know Joey was to love Joey. He will be greatly missed.
