Jessica Marie (nee Ricketts) Morris' Obituary
Jessica Marie Morris (née Ricketts) passed away on September 17, 2018, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was 41 years old.
Jess was a tough, determined and generous individual. She made the difficult seem effortless and was never afraid to try new things or go new places. If she wanted to go, she went; if she wanted to do something, then she found a way to do it. She was always willing to help others, whether it was to lend an ear, a shoulder or even a place to live. She continued to do that even as she passed by being an eye and tissue donor.
She was smart and loved to read, everything from Russian literature to modern mysteries and anything in between. She was strong-willed and even when you argued with her, you had to admire her passion and the strength she had in her convictions.
Jess brightened every room that she was in with her smile, her laugh and her sharp sense of humor. If you met her, you liked her; if you knew her, you loved her. If you never met her, then you missed out on a truly beautiful and special person.
She liked the outdoors and loved going to the beach. If you’re ever on Cape Cod in Massachusetts and go to Coast Guard Beach, you might see her face in one of the few clouds in the sky or reflected in the crashing waves. I hope I do.
She joins her mother, Marge, wherever souls go, hopefully to drink cocktails and lie in the sun.
She is sorely missed by her wonderful husband Mark, his two children Jennifer and Grey, her father David, his wife Lisa, her brother Timothy and her sister Christine, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, along with countless others who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held in Buffalo, New York, next summer, and some of her ashes will be spread near a family home on Cape Cod.
