James Robert Burnette's Obituary
James “Jim” Robert Burnette sadly passed away on January 25th, 2024 at the age of 56. Jim was born on September 28th, 1967 in Aurora, Colorado to Robert Leon Burnette and Myrtle Kathleen Raddon Burnette. Jim is survived by his son Zeke (Amanda), his second mother, June, brothers Leon, Joe, Chris (Jaime) and Bobby, and nieces and nephews Tyler (Sarah), CJ (Anna), Keisha (Anton), Bryan (Tori), Deni (Drew), Kyle (Alicia), Carson and Abi, as well as several grand-nieces and grand-nephews whom he adored.
Growing up, Jim spent time in Georgia, but most of his life was spent in West Valley City, Utah. He had a passion for the outdoors, and could often be found in the mountains or at the lakes with his closest friend, Tom, hunting and fishing. Jim enjoyed getting together with friends and family over a good barbecue or a NASCAR race and enjoyed the company of many pets throughout his life. Jim had a particularly close bond with his dogs Beedo, Doc and Bones. In his final years, Jim struggled with various health issues but found love and solace with his beloved Colleen OBriant. With a relationship built first on friendship, Colleen provided the companionship of Jim’s lifetime. Together they enjoyed things like music, cooking, canning, and of course, each other's company. Jim is preceded in death by father Bob, mother Kathy, and sister Sue. A celebration of life for friends and family to attend will be announced at a later date.
