Gordon Ray Shields' Obituary
Gordon Ray Shields, age 75, passed away onJune 23, 2019 at St.Marks Hospital due to a Cardiac Arrest. He was born on August 6, 1943 in Salt lake City to Theodore and Agnes Shields.
The youngest of Four children, Gordon spent his childhood working alongside his Father at their family owned business "Shields Welding". He later joined the U.S. Army and was deployed to Germany. Upon his return home he met and married Gloria Safley. In 1971 his only child and son, Shain, came into the world.
Gordon was a very kind person and always did what he could to make you smile. He was always there to help anyone in need. He loved to tell stories and share his experiences with just about everyone he met. Gordon had an answer for everything. Those who knew him knew that he could talk your ear off if you let him. He enjoyed being around friends and loved ones, riding 3 wheelers and showing everyone a good time. He adored his pets and would spend most of his time doing his Beloved puzzles. Gordon was a very caring and selfless person and will be greatly missed.
Gordon is survived by his brother, Glen Shields and sister, Judy Shields Owieler; his Son, Shain Shields and daughter in law Skylar Whitney; seven grandchildren, Justin, Jessica, Athan, Derrick, Tyler, Shainie and Skylie.
He was preceeded in death by his Father and Mother, Theodore and Agnes Shields and brother, Theodore Shields Jr.
