Frederick J Birkle's Obituary
Frederick Joseph Birkle, 79, passed away on February 9, 2017, at 10:30 a.m., at his home in Centerville, Utah, with his family at his side.
Fred was born July 18, 1937 in Evansville, Indiana to Arnold A. and Beulah “Boots” C. (Clark) Birkle. He graduated in 1956 from Jasper High School. Fred married Juanita (Nita) A. Schafer on April 25, 1959 at St. Ferdinand’s Catholic Church in Ferdinand. Fred and Nita lived in Huntingburg for over 45 years before moving to Utah in 2004.
He was a Truck Driver for DMI and Kimball International, having driven over three million safe miles. Keep on Truckin’. Fred loved fly-fishing, reading, going to plays, the Utah Jazz, and spending time hunting, fishing, camping, and road trips with family and friends.
Fred is survived by his wife, Nita, of 57 years, and their children: Eric, Grant (Hollie), Tonya (Steve) McNally, and Kirk; and five grandchildren: Joshua, Kameron, Andrew, Brent, and Christian. His son, Scott, his parents, and his brothers: Lawrence (Tiny), David, and Robert preceded him in death.
In honoring Fred's final wishes, a private family service was held on Friday, February 10, with cremation to follow.
