I've been looking for Gene for quite a while I just found out January 8th 2026 that a great man and cousin of mine had passed away I have many many great memories of gene out of Grandma eskelson's house when he would show up family outings and reunions and he would play out there and the many times that he loved to come to our house to the studio and play guitars and sing with my father his uncle Lamar and they would stay there and play outside on the deck and play through the night then I lost track of him for a while he kind of went off grid but later we found each other again and we would always love to sit and talk philosophy ,God and health for hours and hours and lose all track of time but it was at its best when we could hook up and he'd want to come over and save my bike's broke and I don't have a car and I'd tell him I don't care where you at I'll come pick you up and he'd always say yes I'll come over and I'd get at the house where he was at and he'd always come out wearing that white shirt of his everywhere he went he had that white shirt on and we get there and he loved it when I pulled out different guitars from my stash he had to play every one of them and the song he loved to play the most on them was a Beatles tune called blackbird oh how we had fun playing and talking and singing out there if it's just like the days of Uncle Lee and my dad playing over at Uncle Lee's old paint shop 21st South and West Temple in there was one time that she needed some money he was short of cash and he had a beautiful Yamaha 12-string all a body electric acoustic guitar so I bought it from him and I knew he loved it he had to play it before I got it and I said Gene anytime you want to back brother you can come by it back for what you paid I'll just do this kind of like loan I want to cherish that guitar like the holy Grail and every time I play it I'm going to think of gene and I hope it invites Gene,s Spirit back into the studio just like the old days we had fun going through my old files and I would find pictures of his mother and his father that he doesn't have and I would have to make copies for him and oh he was so appreciative of that and I'd get to hear stories about what the pictures were about I'll never forget you cousin may God bless you always peace and tranquility 🎸🎸🎙️🎤🎧😞
