Edwin Alonzo Wilde's Obituary
Edwin Alonzo Wilde, 76, passed away on December 31st, 2024, at the IMC hospital in Murry City Utah with his loving wife Larraine (Wilkins) Wilde at his side.
Ed passed away due to complications from a fall that made his independence at home no longer possible. Ed was adopted in 1948 by Edwin Thomas Wilde and Thelma (Pearce) Wilde. Then later sealed to his parents in 1977 in the Salt Lake City Temple.
Ed is survived by his Wife Larraine (Wilkins), Wilde, his two children, James Edwin Wilde and KaLynn (Wilde) Black, and her husband, Charles Aaron Black. He is survived by Five Grandchildren. (RIP) Toralynn Rose Wilde, Collin James Wilde, Abbagial Rose Wilde, Joshua Aaron Black, Hunter Douglas Black and one great grandchild yet to be born.
He is preceded in death by his father Edwin Thomas Wilde (Ted), and Thelma (Pearce) Wilde and his older brother Teddy Wilde and his granddaughter, Toralynn Rose Wilde.
Ed was a member of the ROTC at Highland High School, attended the University of Utah, worked at Smith’s Food King where he found a love of flying and got his private pilot’s license, he also became an active member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints.
At the age of 25, Ed served as a Missionary in the Indiana, Indianapolis Mission.
Ed came home from his mission in March and three months later on June 24th 1977, he and Larraine were married in the Salt Lake Temple.
Ed worked installing fireplaces for several years before earned an Associate’s Degree in computer programing at Salt Lake Community College where he graduated early achieving a Summa cum laude; he worked for West Valley City for 31 years. He had a love of reading science fiction books and watching Sci-Fi T.V., playing cards, Camping, fishing, hunting when he was young and Genealogy after he retired. Ed served in several church callings faithfully.
Viewing and Services will be held for family and friends at the Wasatch LDS Stake Center located on 1930 E. 2100 So. Salt Lake City Ut, 84108 on January 15th, 2025, the viewing will be held from 4pm to 5pm and the funeral will immediately follow from 5:00-7pm. Ed will be buried at the Malad City Cemetery on the morning of January 16th 2025. Family and friends can send flowers to Wiscombe Memorial in the behest of the deceased Edwin Alonzo Wilde
