Dionicio Dominic Nevarez's Obituary
Dionicio “Dominic” Nevarez, 50, of Salt Lake City, passed away on December 26, 2023, surrounded by family and dear friends. Dominic was born in Salt Lake City, Utah to Isabelle Nevarez Chacon on April 4, 1973. Dominic was the first of five children and always loved being the older brother. He made many lifelong friends and cherished each of those relationships. Dominic had many health challenges, but he would never let it stop him. Dominic would randomly call to check in on you and see if you wanted to hang out and watch his trilogy series. He was a kindhearted giant who enjoyed life to the fullest and even with his medical constraints, he still thought of others and wanted to spend time; he knew the true meaning of life. If you truly knew Dominic, you would have known that he’d give what little he had to you. He had a great love for animals, especially his Chihuahuas. Dominic was selfless yet feisty. His life wasn't always easy, but that didn't stop him from loving all those who came into his life. Dominic was very spiritual and had a strong belief in Christ through all his transitions in life.
Dominic is survived by brother Secundino Chacon, and sister Librada Trina (Hilary) Chacon, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends who loved him dearly.
Dominic is proceeded in death by his mother Isabelle Nevarez Chacon, stepfather Jose Rubio Chacon, sister Agnes Catrina Chacon, brother Jose Miguel Chacon, grandparents Agnes and Dionicio Gonzalez, sister-in-law Brandilee Chacon and niece Sierra Chacon.
Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Latter Day Saints Meeting House located at 110 East Social Hall Avenue, Salt Lake City Utah 84111. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 275 U Street, Salt Lake City, after which a luncheon will be held at the Cultural Hall where family and friends can gather in remembrance of Dominic. In lieu of flowers, please take time to tell those how much they mean to you, and that you love them.
