David Thayne Atwood's Obituary
David Thayne Atwood passed away on Sunday, June 2nd, 2024, at the age of 58. Dave was born July 26th, 1965, in Salt Lake City. He was married to Tamara (Kippen) for 18 years and later divorced.
Dave was a do-it-yourself kind of man and a jack of all trades. If he didn't know how to do something, he could figure it out. He loved to work with his hands and almost always had a project. He spent a lot of time renovating his grandfather's old home doing landscaping, remodeling rooms, and with the help of his friends, built a workshop garage where he rebuilt and tinkered with several project cars. When he wasn't working on projects, he was running his own business, Strictly Glass, for approximately 12 years. He also really enjoyed camping and fishing.
Dave is survived by his two daughters, Alisha Rose (Joshua A.) and Shontaye Marie (Joshua B.), and four grandsons. Dave was third born of six siblings: Scott (Diane), Jodi (Scot), Jason (Jonell), Terry, Troy (Lisa), and 12 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother LaRaye, father Floyd, stepmother Gerrie, and niece Vivian.
In lieu of a traditional celebration of life, we would like to invite family and friends to join us for a picnic at Joe's Valley Reservoir on Friday, July 26th, 2024. Joe's Valley was one of Dave's favorite places to go.
Alisha and Shontaye would like to send their deepest thanks to the hospital staff who oversaw Dave's care, everyone who came to visit, sent their kind words and thoughts, or donated to expenses. Words cannot express how grateful we are for everyone's compassion during this difficult time.
