Corey Lynn Shane's Obituary
Corey Lynn Shane, age 65, passed away on October 22, 2024 at Huntsman Cancer Hospital after a very long and extremely painful fight against cancer. Donna was with him 24/7 the whole time giving 150% of all her love and care for him. He was born on March 26th, 1960 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Margene Madsen and Robert Leon Shane. He was married to Donna Henderson in 1999 in South Carolina.
Corey was a very unique individual. Generally a happy person and fun to be around. He was well loved by his family, friends, co-workers, and his employer. His smile and laugh will be remembered for a very long time.
Corey loved any activity out-of-doors. Once while digging out of a snow bank and captured on video he raised up out of the hole and called out "Mom--High Five" to his mom who was two states away. After returning home from this trio and going to see his mom, he stopped (as was his habit) at an Arby's for a sandwich and vanilla shake for her. Always generous and giving to those he cared for. He was not well known for being a published poet - it showed his private, softer side.
His largest love of course was his wife Donna - then family and friends. Later in life he developed a love for Hot Wheels. He did have an extensive collection of them and all things small and having 4 wheels on the ground - maybe a little funky too!
During his time after coming back to his home he worked as a brick mason. He was good at his job and was a dependable and valued employee
He is survived by his wife, Donna, mother, Margene Sweat, daughter, Lindzee Oteaos, brothers Rob Shane (Jan) and Michael, sisters, Pat (Living in Montana) and Julie Boeshans (Tony) living in Mexico. He was preceded in death by his father, Bob, his brother, Steven Lynch Shane, his grandparents, aunts and uncles.
