Connie LaRue Knapton's Obituary
Connie LaRue Knapton passed away peacefully at Hillside Rehabilitation at the age of 86 years. She was born on May 5, 1931 to Alan John McComb & Kanna Burningham. She spent most of her life growing up on Woodland Avenue In Salt Lake City, Utah. Sugarhouse was her running ground as a teenager. She graduated from Granite High School. She married her sweetheart, Dale Knapton in the Salt Lake Temple on September 7, 1951. Mom had a passion for dancing with Dale to the Big Bands when they were young.
Connie was a an amazing, loving, sweet, & patient person to be with. She was there for her children through any and every life challenges & hardships that came along. We always played games at family get togethers. She was a card shark and loved games.
Mom was a very loving Mother and Grandmother doing anything she could to make them feel special as an individual and making them happy. The grand kids loved having sleepovers at her house. She loved celebrating birthdays, Christmas, holidays, & all occasions. Halloween was her favorite time of year. We will always remember her being involved with what was going on in our families lives. She didn't want to miss a thing. Vacations were a big thing for the family. We were always going places and doing things to make memories. Connie was employed for 10 years with Crown Burger.
Her favorite thing to do was writing poems, and she loved to read. Her hair had to be done by a professional beautician, so as to get the perfect hair do.
(Survived by) Dale L. Knapton (Son), Cindy Young, Kanna Meeks (Randy), Holly Lemon (Mel), Pam Hardy (Shawn), Heidi Knapton, Sister Marilyn Case. 12 Grandchildren, and 12 Great Grandchildren.
(Preceded in Death by) Husband, Dale E. Knapton, Brother, Keith McComb, and parents Alan McComb & Kanna Burningham.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from 6:30 - 8:30 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 3970 South 5200 West West Valley City, UT and on Friday, September 22, 2017 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints 3372 South Merry Lane West Valley City, UT from 10:45 - 11:45 AM with Funeral Services following. Interment will take place at Elysian Burial Gardens.
