Betty Starr Helf's Obituary
West Jordan, Utah- Betty Fay Starr Helf passed away with her family around her in her West Jordan home in Utah during the evening hours of June 27,2025. She was 81 years old. Up until the end Betty maintained her love of family and gratitude of life.
Betty was born July 6,1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah the youngest child born to Charles Washington Starr and Ella Mathiesen Starr. During her childhood she lived in Salt Lake City, Utah and attended West High School. She met Duane Ladell Helf at 16 years old and later married. During 16 years of marriage their first daughter Starla Jean was born in Salt lake City, Utah. They had a second daughter Elizabeth Anne who was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and third daughter Sheri Lynne was in Seattle, Washington. All children make their home in Utah.
Betty loved to cook and always cooked Thanksgiving and Christmas meals for the family. She loved to go to Smith and Morehouse Reservoir in the Uinta Mountains in Utah to fish, close to her brothers house in Oakley, Utah. She enjoyed driving out to Wendover, Nevada with close friends and family to enjoy a day away. Betty rejoiced in being a grandmother to Jordan, Skyler, Cody, Jerad, Russell and Shelby. She looked forward to any time she got to be with her family.
Betty is survived by her three daughters Starla (Dale) Morgan Riverton, UT; Elizabeth Johnston Stansbury Park, UT; Sheri Burch West Jordan, UT her six grandchildren Jordan, Skyler, Cody, Jerad, Russell and Shelby and seven great grandchildren A'lias, Kleric, Colwyn, Jayden, Adriana, Morgan and Ayvrie. She was proceeded in death by her parents, brothers Jack, Bob, Gene and sister Shirley. We love you Mama.
