Alphonse Katshetshe Mwamba's Obituary
Alphonse Mwamba, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away at age 66 in Salt Lake City, Utah on Saturday April 3 2021. He was born on November 17, 1954 in Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo to George Mutombo Tshintu and Masengu Bukumbambu. He was the third of 11 children. He is preceded in death by both parents and five siblings.
Alphonse attended the University of Lubumbashi where he earned his doctorate degree in Veterinary Medicine. He practiced with some friends and worked for the government until he opened his own veterinary clinic. His work took him many places. He also hosted many conferences and teaching sessions to educate and help new vets.
Alphonse was a faithful member of New Apostolic Church, where he served in many capacities. He participated actively in building meetinghouses for worship. He loved serving God and others, always putting his family first.
His memories will be cherished and kept alive by his beautiful wife Beatrice Mwamba, who was also his longtime caretaker and by his 10 children: Tubajiki Pitshu (Muawuka), Aimerance Mukaji Mwenyi (Celestin Lumbu), Charly Tshabuta Katshetshe (Stephanie), Masdo Masengu wa Mwamba (Thade Bongo), Solange Mujinga, John Ntumba Muadianvita (Jacky Masanka), Bijoux Kabishi, Jose Kamba, Nathalie Nzeba Katshetshe (Mpunga Tshilombo) and Toussaint Mutombo wa Mwamba, his 25 grandchildren and his remaining 6 siblings.
The family wishes to thank all the doctors and nurses that cared for him at Intermountain Medical Center, at Aspen Ridge East and at Intermountain Hospice for the wonderful care they provided to Alphonse.
The Funeral Service will be held on April 17, 2021 at the New Apostolic Church located at 4594 West Volta Avenue in West Valley City, starting with a viewing at 9:30 and followed by the interment at the West Jordan City Cemetery located at 7925 South 1300 West in West Jordan Utah.
