We sadly announce the passing of our cherished mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend on February 6, 2022 at her home in South Jordan, Utah. Victoria (Germania) was born on September 6, 1940 in Guayaquil, Ecuador in South America. She was the fifth of eleven children born to Moises and Dolores Salazar. She immigrated to the United States in 1968 and resided in a suburb of Los Angeles, California. Victoria, relocated to Utah in 2010 and lived in Tupelo, Mississippi for five years and then relocated back to Utah. Victoria enjoyed traveling and gardening. She had a natural green thumb which she inherited from her mother as well as her grandmother. Victoria often picked flowers from her own garden and would make bouquets to give to family and friends whenever she would visit them, she never would go empty handed. She loved knitting: blankets, scarfs, hats, kitchen towels, handbags, mittens, and slippers, that she would give as gifts. She spent hours working on word search puzzles, and had an amazing ability for meeting people and making new friends. She loved her family dearly, and making sweet memories with them whether in the USA or her native Ecuador. She was a loving and fun grandmother to all her grandchildren who will miss her tenderness, sense of humor and laughter. Victoria held many interesting jobs to single handily raise her three children. She worked as a substitute teacher’s aide for numerous children centers, a caretaker to the elderly, and a movie extra in various major motion pictures and was a creative entrepreneur. She was an active and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints since 1969. Victoria is survived by her three children: Kathy Avila of Sun Valley, CA, John (Candi) Shelburne of Tupelo, MS, and Angel Shelburne of South Jordan, UT, her seven grandchildren: Joel, Janelle, Tommy, Isabella, Eva Clare, Chaz and Sarah Kate, her brother Jim Salazar, and two sisters Lolita Salazar and Irene Ramirez and numerous nieces and nephews who loved her, enjoyed visiting with her, and listening to her anecdotes. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints building on 11038 South Braidwood Drive, South Jordan, Utah 84009. Public Viewing from 10:00am – 11:00am, the funeral will take place at 11:30am. Quien falleciera el 6 de Febrero de 2022 en su casa localizada en la ciudad de South Jordán, Utah. Victoria (Germania) nació el 6 de Septiembre de 1940 en Guayaquil, Ecuador en Sudamérica. Fue la quinta de once hijos de Moisés y Dolores Salazar. Emigró a los Estados Unidos en el año 1968 y residió en un suburbio de Los Ángeles, California. Victoria, se traslado a Utah en 2010 y vivió en Tupelo, Mississippi durante cinco años, luego se traslado nuevamente a Utah. Victoria disfrutaba de viajar, la jardinería, tenía una habilidad natural para la jardinería, la cual heredó de su madre y abuela, frecuentemente recogía flores de su propio jardín, hacia arreglos florales para obsequiar a sus familiares y amistades, ella nunca llegaba con manos vacías. Para criar a sus tres hijos Victoria realizo muchos trabajos interesantes; ella trabajó en varios centros infantiles como ayudante de maestra, asistía con el cuidado de ancianos, trabajó como extra de cine en varias películas taquilleras con reconocidos actores y era una muy creativa empresaria. Desde 1969 fue miembro activo y fiel de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días. Le sobreviven sus tres hijos: Kathy Avila de Sun Valley, CA, John (Candi) Shelburne de Tupelo, MS y Angel Shelburne de South Jordan, UT; sus siete nietos: Joel, Janelle, Tommy, Isabella, Eva Clare, Chaz y Sarah Kate, su hermano Jim Salazar y sus dos hermanas Lolita Salazar e Irene Ramírez además de numerosos sobrinos los cuales la amaban, disfrutaban de sus visitas y escuchar sus anécdotas. Los servicios fúnebres se llevaran a cabo el Sábado 12 de Febrero de 2022 empezando a las 10:00 am en las instalaciones de la Iglesia de Jesucristo de los Santos de los Últimos Días en 11038 South Braidwood Drive, South Jordan, Utah 84009.
