Nancy Lynne Cudney Olson

January 30, 1947 - July 29, 2020

Full Name: Nancy Lynne Cudney Olson Age: 73 DOD: 07/29/2020 10:30 pm Place: Millcreek, Utah DOB: 01/30/1947 PlaceBirth: Salt Lake City, Utah MotherName: Beverly Jean Henderson Van De Vanter FatherName: Marvin L Cudney Marital: Widowed Spouse: James C Olson Preceeded: July 27, 2020 History: Nancy "Nano" was born on January 30, 1947 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Marvin L Cudney and Beverly Van De Vanter. She passed away July 29, 2020 just two days after the loss of the love of her life, James C Olson. Their love was so strong she could not be without him and her heart went to be with him. She lived her whole life in Salt Lake City and graduated from high school at Highland High in 1965. She worked for a brief time at the City and County building before marrying the love of her life on August 16, 1967. They welcomed Scott in September of 1969 and Terri in March of 1972. Nancy spent 53 years with the love of her life. They were married for 52 years but she had loved him since she was 14 years old. She got her first kiss from Jim when she was 14 years old playing an old game of perdiddle on the way home. They did not date until he came home from leave while in the navy and knew they were in love and meant to be. Nancy was a stay at home mom and loved being with her children growing up. She loved her soaps in the daytime. She also loved having all of her kids friends over through the day. A full house was a happy house for her. She became the second mom to a lot of her kids friends over the years. She loved to paint ceramics and small wood creations. She had a great talent for painting that came later in life for her. She would find something in a craft store that reminded her of someone and she would buy it, paint it and gift it to the person in mind. Some of her best and favorite times were spent camping with friends and family. She made a mean wine cooler. The many trips to Rockport with the gang were unforgettable and so special to her. Nancy is survived by her Son Scott Olson, Daughter and Son in Law Terri and Phil Lamont and her beloved grandsons Kaleb Lamont and Braeden Lamont. She is also survived by close friend and chosen family member Greg Scarbrough. You were a great comfort to her and so much help to us all. She also had many chosen families that she added to our family. The Nelson Family, The Brownrigg family, The Devey family, The Ellis family, The Gundersen family, The Unzaga family and so many others. Know that if she knew you and welcomed you into her home you were loved by her and not just friends but family. She is also suvived by her brothers Ned Cudney and Jack Cudney and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband two days prior James Olson, her father Marvin L Cudney, and her Mother Beverly Van De Vanter. At this time we will not be having a service per Mom and Dad's request. We will have a celebration of their lives at a later date and will inform everyone of when and where that will be. Arrangements are under the direction of Wiscombe Memorial.
