As a child he enjoyed ice hockey, fishing, camping and paintball. He grew up in Tampa, and attended Alonso High School, where he made many friends who he loved dearly. He had an infectious smile and laugh with an unbelievably outgoing personality. He always was the life of the party. Joey overcame many obstacles in his life and went on to become a self taught and accomplished Chef. He had a passion for cooking and was proud to have worked, with no culinary degree, at the Sarasota Ritz Carlton, The Tampa Club and The Capitol Grille. He loved to cook for friends and family and his meals were always a lesson and a special treat. Joey was an impulsive, fearless, free spirit and loved adventure. He went on to become a phenomenal salesman. He had the time of his life traveling the country. With his vibrant, upbeat personality he found beauty in what he saw and met new friends everywhere he went. He kept us updated, almost daily, with pictures, videos and stories of his travels. Joey found peace staying with friends in the solitude of the California mountains. He loved to read and learn. In his own words he said “be at peace spiritually so that nothing of this world can shake you and if it does - maturity, humility and the ability to learn will break your fall”. His many friends and family were so important to him. He loved people and found the good in everyone. He was motivating, inspiring and beautiful to us all. He believed "the secret to having it all is realizing that you already do”. He lived a lifetime in his 33 years. Rest well in the arms of Jesus and fly high with the angels. Words cannot describe how much you are loved and will be missed. Celebration of Life date and time will be posted on his Facebook page soon.
