Arnold Liston Carter Jr.

April 5, 1948 - October 2, 2021

Arnold Liston Carter Jr. Arnie to his Utah friends, Gubby to family and childhood friends. He was born in Sedgwick Maine on April 5, 1948 to Arnold Carter Sr. and Alice Carter. The youngest of 4 kids. He joined the Army in 1966 where he became a mechanic. While stationed in Dugway Utah he met Lucy Schreiner at a bowling alley. They married July 3, 1971. On May 30, 1972 they welcomed their first son Jonathon in Dugway Utah. Three years later while stationed in Stuttgart Germany they welcomed their daughter Shauna on December 16, 1975. On April 14, 1984 they welcomed their son Timothy in Salt Lake City Utah. He retired from the Army in 1979 and joined the Utah National Guard. He retired from the Postal service as a mail handler. He was loved and accepted as a father to more than just his kids, and a friend to so many. He was loved and will be missed. Arnold is survived by his uncle and aunt Malcolm and Juanita Carter, his sister Mariam (Harold), brother Richard, his children Jon (Maria), Shauna, Tim (Dusty), and his grandchildren Edison, Aryanna, Adryn, Razakel. He is preceded in death by his parents Arnold and Alice, his sister Sharon and brother-in-law George. A Memorial service will be held on November 6, 2021 at Butterfly Lake in the Uinta mountains. A small reception will be at his daughter's home in Kamas after the Memorial. His ashes will be taken to Maine to be scattered where their will be another Memorial with the Military Honor's.
