I have so many memories of my Great Uncle Dan. my birthdays, thanksgiving and Christmas. He taught me a lot of life lessons. My mom told me many stories about him growing up. He has told me many stories of great grandpa. I’ll forever miss the memories we built. My heart broke when I heard he had passed away. Now he’s in heaven with his sister Linda. My mom Kimberlie Gavin. His parents and his beautiful wife Aunt Mary! I love and miss you all!
I didn't get much opportunity to get to know Uncle Dan unfortunately, but my Mom (his sister Mikila/Linda Lockhart) and him were close. She has shared many fond memories with me about him, and through her memory of him, I shall miss him too. Much love to the rest of the family from us.
The Dan that I knew and enjoyed visiting with was always an amazing listener with very wise council. His sincerety was always felt by those around him. His love for family was a real pleasure to see. He was always so gracious, supportive and loving to his soulmate (Mary). It was always a real pleasure to watch the teasing and love that was between them. His gentleness was so appealing and tender. I first met Dan shortly after they moved to our community of Church Wells. We became good friends when he joined my on the Special Service District as Water Master. He was a good man and a hard worker. His wife, Mary, became one of my closest friends. It is always hard to see someone go, but especially this man. He will be missed.

In tears we saw you sinking we watched you fade away, you suffered much in silence, You fought so hard to stay. You faced your task with courage. You felt your hope descend but still you kept on fighting Until the very end.
God saw you getting tired, When a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you, and whispered" Come with Me". So when we saw you sleeping so peaceful, free from pain We could not wish you back, To suffer that again.

An Honor Guard service will be held Friday October 10th at 1:00 PM at Camp Williams.
Grandfather was a great source of stories and laughter in my life com always teasing me and mutually calling each other the wrong names including the vintage "george" Which stuck. He always had a smile for me even when he was in pain. I feel very grateful to have been in his life and he was always kind in return to me. I shall miss him dearly.
